Enhancing mental health nursing practice through leadership development in undergraduate nursing students using standardized patients
Experiences with standardized patients, community members trained to portray a particular condition or patient case, foster improvement in clinical and interpersonal skills. This project evaluated the effectiveness of using standardized patient experiences (SPEs) in promoting leadership skill development among undergraduate nursing students.

Reimagining nurse practitioner education to meet societal needs: The development of an endocrinology training program
This presentation highlights the development and implementation of an innovative endocrinology training program for nurse practitioners. This training has the potential to increase access to care for patients with diabetes and general endocrine conditions. Nursing schools should consider innovative approaches to meeting societal demands for healthcare in specialty shortage areas.

The lived experience of nursing students who fail: A narrative inquiry study
Attrition rates among nursing students in the United States has been a significant problem. The purpose of this study was to collect and analyze the lived stories of unsuccessful nursing students, as told by nursing students who have failed one or more nursing courses during their journey in nursing school.

Emerging Educational Administrator Institute (EEAI): Outcomes from three cohorts
The need to develop leaders in education is well established. While the EEAI, developed building on the success of other Sigma Leadership programs, has evolved since its inception, inspection of results revealed that participants grew in self-confidence and self-awareness, were able to achieve project goals, and grew in communication skills.

Bridge the gap: Retaining CPR skills in perioperative units
A gap analysis indicated that majority of compression and ventilation skills were not in compliance with the current guidelines despite all of the participants had valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Cardiac arrest workshop was created to increase competency in life-saving skills associated with cardiac arrest patients.
