Abstract

In this study, the relationship between psychological empowerment (PE), an intangible sense of feeling powerful from within, and job crafting (JC), proactively adjusting one's job by changing its core job characteristics, was examined among Ontario registered nurses (RNs) working in public health. Past research suggests PE and JC are associated with motivation and engagement. Yet, there are few PE studies and no JC studies in public health. There are also no studies that examine the PE and JC relationship of nurses in any health care setting.
