Using Simulation to Educate Student Nurses on Child Maltreatment

Abstract

Nursing students lack the knowledge and training on child maltreatment. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the implementation and the impact of an educational intervention to improve student nurses’ comfort and confidence on detecting cases of child maltreatment and caring for suspected victims and their families using low-fidelity simulation.
