Abstract

Refractory hypotension is an increasing perioperative concern most prominently seen in patients on chronic renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) inhibitors. Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors), angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), or a combination of the two therapies are common first-line medications used to treat primary hypertension.
