Abstract

Professional autonomy in nursing plays a key role in clinical decision-making and quality of care. This study aims to determine the relationship between professional autonomy and work performance among nurses in a public hospital in Lima, Peru. A quantitative, cross-sectional correlational design will be used with a sample of 218 nurses selected through stratified sampling. Data will be collected using the Questionnaire of Professional Autonomy for Clinical Nurses and the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ). Statistical analysis will be conducted to evaluate the relationship between variables. The findings are expected to contribute evidence supporting strategies to strengthen professional autonomy and improve nursing performance and quality of care.
