Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the efficacy of research-based instructional material for improving the competence of clinical instructors in guiding nursing students in practical activities in Tanzania. The clinical instructor material developed with the same work of social constructivist theory which used. That because constructions are perceived to be more effective hence learners interact among themselves. The study conducted at Dodoma referral hospital, this developmental research study which is quas experimental design the qualitative evaluation used by paired sample T.Test to see the score and compare with the group between two experimental groups and control groups. The qualitative evaluation used to measure an indicator of measurement on skills, knowledge, and attitude on supervision to nursing students therefore on the qualitative phenomenological approaches being used by developing 14 lessons for a clinical instructor which were designed and evaluated through expertise so as the learning material supported to the clinical instructors in guiding nursing students in practical activities in Tanzania. The objective was to explore key issues to be included in the prototype of the clinical instructor learning material, to evaluate the appropriateness of the developed prototype of the learning material for the clinical instructor through expert appraisal, to assess the effectiveness of the instructional learning material for the improvement of the clinical instructor skills. The effect of interventional nursing on the training of the clinical instructors was analyzed for 154 clinical instructors. Clinical instructors were divided into two groups according to the training of the materials provided, the control group was (n=77) and the interventional group was (n=77) the clinical instructors in the control group were treated using the traditional methods of the clinical instructors and those of the interventional group (n=77). The interventional group was treated using targeted interventions. The analysis analyzed in the two groups and the principal investigator rating scale was used on data collection before the international and after the interventional, the higher score was in the rating scale as indicated which were good for the improvement of the clinical instructors training methodologies. The prototyping process to the clinical instructor used to the clinical instructors to compare the quality of the instructional materials. But also quality scale was used to assess and to obtain data from two groups of the interventional group and control group. The result after the clinical instructor on the interventional was significantly higher to the interventional group lower than those of the control group(p<0.5).After the clinical instructor interventional the SDS score of the interventional group was significantly lower than of the control group. (P=0.014). In the conclusion, the interventional of the clinical instructional material improves the quality of the nursing students on the practical activities and satisfaction among the clinical instructors and the clinical instructors could be promoted and motivated to train well the nursing students.
