Abstract
Nurses report loss of compassion satisfaction at work. Nurses’ positive self-talk during stress can enhance professional well-being. After recalling routine stress at work, nurses repeated a brief mantra while looking compassionately into a handheld mirror. Before and after comparison revealed statistically significant increased reassured-self and decreased inadequate-self and hated-self scores.
