Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed nurses in a unique position to establish and maintain the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses’ (AACN’s) Healthy Work Environment Standards. Application of authentic leadership principles to support staff and innovative methods for skilled communication provide lessons for nurses to take forward into future practice.
