Abstract

Nurse externships provide valuable experiential learning opportunities to reinforce and augment the student’s prelicensure, clinical education. This presentation highlights ways in which innovative summer externships introduce and foster an awareness of interprofessional collaboration for nursing student externs as a way to enhance the work environment and promote safe patient care.
