Abstract
The purpose of the workshop is to introduce interprofessional clinicians, evidence-based practice (EBP) experts, and process improvement (Pl) experts to a new framework titled: Evidence-based Quality in Practice and Process Framework (EQUiPP). It is uniquely designed to provide structure and guidance to synergistically align EBP and Pl work to effectively improve and sustain outcomes. Use of the EQUiPP Framework decreases the frequency of implementing ineffective changes, saves time and money, and improves care and outcomes. The EQUiPP Framework integrates evidence-based practice and process improvement methods for sustained quality.
The content of the workshop will guide healthcare interprofessionals to effectively plan and implement evidence-based changes that lead to achieving and sustaining intended goals and outcomes. As this is an innovative evidence-based quality framework, it is necessary to introduce the framework to clinicians and educators/academics. Educating clinicians and quality teams, ongoing mentoring and support, and disseminating real-world implementation exemplars are examples of opportunities in clinical settings. Educating faculty, integrating the framework into curricula, and using the framework for DNP student projects are examples of opportunities in academic settings.
The EQUiPP Framework is the only tested operational quality framework that includes critical domains that support best practice/care/outcomes: research (the generation of new evidence), EBP (determination of the current, best evidence to support care), Pl (determination of the best processes to deliver the best evidence-based care), innovation (the ability to imagine new approaches to care) and implementation science strategies (to support implementation and sustainability).

Applicability in Global Nursing Context:
The EQUiPP Framework's intent is to provide structure for collaborative interprofessional efforts to effectively identify best practices/processes, implement and sustain change, and improve outcomes. This new and innovative framework provides guidance to decrease the frequency of implementing ineffective changes by deriving effective solutions.
Workshop Objectives: After this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Recognize the differences between practice and process improvement.
2. Verbalize how to effectively use the EQUiPP Framework.
3. Identify one evidence-based practice and one process improvement model that can be used in the EQUiPP Framework.
4. Describe the importance of interprofessional collaboration to sustain quality using the EQUiPP Framework.
Workshop Learning Strategies:
1. Elaborative strategies to encourage participants to relate new information to existing knowledge (brief review of EBP/PI methods using
PowerPoint and discussion).
2. Organizational strategies to organize materials for easier comprehension (understanding the EQUiPP Framework and how to integrate EBP
and PI methods to sustain quality- PowerPoint, discussion, active learning with an interactive case study utilizing the framework).
