Abstract

This qualitative study explores the effects of power dynamics within the neonatal intensive care unit and hospital organizational structure upon clinical care delivery for infants from a substance-exposed pregnancy in the NICU. Results suggest that power imbalances can inhibit the delivery of high-quality care, especially with high workload demands.
