Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the occurrence of opiophobia among postsurgical adults with cancer and hypothesized associations among opiophobia, anxiety, depression, pain intensity, pain interference, and opioid medication adherence during the first week following hospital discharge for surgical treatment of a malignancy.

Supplemental poster file information: The Nursing Science Day for Oncology Research was hosted by the Meyers Institute for Oncology Nursing on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC). It provided an opportunity for nurse researchers to present their work conducted at MDACC and to engage nurse colleagues in discussions about these research findings and how we can work together to shape future nursing research at MDACC.
