Pharmacology Crash Course: Toxicities, Psych, Diabetes, Hypertension and the Rest, in 60 Seconds Each [Title Slide]
Abstract
You've memorized the side effects. Then an exam question gives you a patient on clozapine who has a sore throat and asks what you do first. The list doesn't help. Pharm questions rarely ask what a drug does. They ask what's going wrong with this patient and what you're going to do about it. In this 90-minute session, we'll go deep on four areas: drug toxicities, psych medications, insulin and DKA, and blood pressure drugs. Then we'll take a 60-second pass through each of five more: anticoagulants, chest pain, opioids, asthma, and IV fluids. We'll start with ten questions before we teach anything. The score is for you, not us. By the end, you'll know why you missed the ones you missed and what to look for next time. Bring something to write with.
