Abstract

Violence against healthcare employees is underreported. Many staff expect to be assaulted on the job. While many staff experience physical assaults by patients, evaluating characteristics of patients who assaulted staff, types of assaults, and contributing factors to assaults are needed to know how to reduce acts of violence.
